SECTION #4 - PRACTICAL MINISTRY
Biblical Finance (8 sessions)
A study in the biblical approach to finances. An emphasis on sound financial principles will be taught to students. Application can be made in personal, business and/or ministry life. Students will learn how to set up a proper budget to manage their finances.
Conflict Management (8 sessions)
A biblical approach to resolving conflict. This course uses Scripture on how to appropriately deal with conflict in church and other leadership settings. It offers practical principles for resolving conflict in a “win-win” manner and in other ways that are pleasing to God.
How to Preach (16 sessions)
A basic study on the principles of preaching. It focuses on sermon preparation, sources for sermon material, constructing sermons, the types of sermons and how to deliver an effective sermon. All students will be required to write a sermon and deliver it effectively.
Impacting Leadership (16 sessions)
A biblical approach to leadership principles. It focuses on applying those principles in a church setting and provides practical skills needed to serve in church leadership and beyond. Time management and personal health in the leadership context are also discussed.
Ministry Preparation (8 sessions)
This course discusses the importance of attitude, service and work-ethic in the ministry. It also provides training on practical and creative forms of ministry. Students will be involved with planning and/or participation of the sacerdotal functions (baptism, communion, funeral, wedding), as well as discipleship, premarital counseling, personal evangelism and regular prayer sessions. They will also be trained and gain experience in church/board administration, biblical counseling, personal finance (creating a budget) and benevolence.
Prayer & Worship School (100+ hours)
Each day before classes begin, students will participate with 1 hour of worship and prayer. During these times, students will learn how to worship and enter the presence of God. They will also engage in various types of prayers such as: intense “warfare” prayer, prayer for missions (unreached people groups throughout the world), “harp & bowl” prayers, and many others. An emphasis is placed on connecting with God and entering into His presence on a daily basis.
Relationships & Ministry Ethics (8 sessions)
A course that addresses the necessity of relationships in both a personal and professional context. The book of James is used as a guide to discuss matters of integrity that will help the student in areas such as: personal growth, ministry interaction, the community and partnering with other ministries.
Weekly Outreach (minimum of 14)
Students will participate in a minimum of 14 different “hands-on” outreach and evangelism opportunities in a 9 month period of time. They will have experience in preaching, acts of evangelistic kindness, group evangelism events, sharing the gospel one-on-one, praying for the sick, partnering with local churches and church plants to reach their communities and much more. This allows students to put into practice the things they learn in the classroom.
