SECTION #5 - HISTORY & MISSIONS

A/G History & Missions (16 sessions)
It’s a study of the historical development of the Pentecostal movement that led to the formation of the Assemblies of God. It also covers the history of missions within Pentecostal circles, (including the Assemblies of God) and gives an overview of missions and how missions is carried out within Assemblies of God churches.

Church History (16 sessions)
This course provides an overview of the history of the church. It gives an understanding of certain religious traditions and identifies where they were first born. The lives of key men and women are studied as well as their contribution of Christianity and how they impacted the church as it is today.

Missions Trip (100 hours)
Students will have the chance to go to an unreached people group in a targeted location throughout the world. They will have multiple opportunities to present the gospel through testimony, preaching, drama, dance, music and other creative forms of ministry to those who have never heard about Jesus. Students will lay their hands on sick people for healing, pray with people for salvation, cast out demons, pray for people to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit and much more. Students must fully complete the missions trip in order to graduate.

Unreached People Group Research Paper (30 pages)
In the spring semester, students will be required to write a research paper that focuses on an unreached people group throughout the world. The research paper must be a minimum of 30 pages in length. The content will include the religious beliefs of the people group, cultural practices, climate of the region, customs, how to best reach them with the gospel and more.

World Religions (32 sessions)
A study of the 4 primary non-Christian world religions, which include: Hinduism, Buddhism, Animism and Islam. Students will learn the basic beliefs, customs, practices and teachings of each in order to provide a better understanding of how to minister the gospel to people bound by those false teachings.
